Oh the humanity!

Yesterday something utterly gruesome happened. I was taking a Charlotte break (it was nearly done, mind you), knitting along, when my daugher, who was still eating breakfast in the kitchen, said, "Uh oh." I set Charlotte down IN MY KNITTING BAG and went to investigate. She had tried to pour herself more milk and made a terrible mess. I helped her clean it up, then went back to knit. To my horror I saw Charlotte on the floor, and one of the cats hiding in the corner. When I picked it up, I saw about 30 stitches were off the needle. Okay, no problem. I start to fix that, then I noticed that there was a BIG HOLE CHEWED IN IT ABOUT 4 INCHES DOWN. As in gaping hole with little frayed yarn ends sticking out. Once I regained my composure, I settled down to the heartbreaking task of ripping back to the big hole and trying to get everything back on the needle properly, which as you know is hard to do with lace. Extremely frustrating? You bet.

Oh my goodness. I would have flipped out especially with Charlotte. It seems like everything is okay thought. Looking forward to seeing it done.
