The housework is as done as it's going to be for a while. I totally scrubbed everything, top to bottom, and reorganized. I did shove a bunch of stuff in the basement to "deal with later" though. Since the family room is in the basement (and I'd like to be able to use it again someday) I'll probably deal with that next week.
Here's the news: I have a design accepted for the Winter issue of Knitter's! (Guess I'd better get busy).

Forsooth, a sock
Over the weekend, I managed to finish one of my Monkey socks! It turned out okay.
P.S. I'm actually doing some major housework- as in it's keeping me from knitting. Cleaning out closets and everything. Somebody better check my temperature!!
In Traverse City, I visited Lost Art Yarn Shop and actually restrained myself:
Just another of my favorite row counters and some sock yarn for Emma.
Oh, and I had another design accepted by Nashua Handknits!

Anniversary
I just got back from a long weekend in Traverse City-- didn't get as much knitting done as I would have liked, but I did get some sun!
Today is Hubbo and my 12th anniversary, so this is it for today. I have some progress pics to share but they will have to wait.
Until then!

The Yarn Harlot cleaned my garage!
Okay, not really, but I just woke up from a dream in which she did. I know, "Why???" is the question running through my mind right now too.
In the dream, not only did our dear Harlot clean the garage, she straightened up the basement and seeded the bare spots in my lawn. What was I doing while she slaved away? Why knitting of course-- she insisted! And not only did I dream such a bizarre event, part of the dream involved taking pictures and PLANNING THE BLOG POST about it.
Truly, I am a total nerd.

And shopping too!
While at Have You Any Wool this past Friday, I picked up 2 skeins of Malabrigo Laceweight and a Addi Lace Turbo (this time in size 6). I made some nice progress on the Seasilk shawl too (can't show you- it's a surprise!) amid all the shopping. Believe it or not, it was hard to find things to buy! I must have too much stuff.
In addition to the end-of-the-school-year-gifts-from-my-students lovely yarn-related gift certificate (spent as you see above), I got some for Barnes and Noble too. I still haven't decided which books to get-- any suggestions?
Next design project!

Up for air
I finally stopped messing around on Ravelry and got some work done (I admit I haven't left the house all weekend, nor did I get dressed). I knit a bit on a new design I'm doing for SWTC in their new yarn Vegas (Vickie Howell Collection)- my progress is above. It's filled with sparkly pink wonderfulness! And yes, you're not seeing things, I'm using straight needles. My Denises are on another project and the Addis were too slippery, so what else could I do but break out the old Brittany birch needles that were collecting dust in a vase?
I did a few submissions this weekend too, and some tech editing. I also watched a lot of Seinfeld, since I just got Season 8 on DVD. Lots of fun for me in my knitting chaise.
PLUS: only 4 more days left in the school year! Wooooo hoooo!!!!!

From the Runway
Jonelle at SWTC very sweetly sent me a picture of my new design for them, Gatsby, at the TNNA fashion show last weekend. Behold!
Oh, and I've been horsing around on Ravelry for hours now. If you haven't gotten your invite yet, get as much knitting/work/chores/whatever done before yours comes. Seriously. I need to go to bed. I know I won't though. Send help.

Ravelry!!!
At long last, I got my invitation to Ravelry today!! There goes my free time for the next week or so, right? I just got my profile up for now- I'm "frottez", naturally, if you're lookin' for me. When I get home I'll play with it some more.
I can stop being jealous now-- that's the best part!
P.S. Lexie Barnes-- thanks for the love, and right back at ya!

Now It Can Be Told
I'm back from TNNA, and now that it's all over I can share what I've been working on. First of all, this is what was in the fashion show. It's done in the new yarns from SWTC, Yin and Yang. They are matching, only Yang has subtle sequins. Both are a wool/bamboo/silk blend. I usually don't go for the sparkly yarns but this is nice. The design was based on a photo from the 1920's.
This is the piece I did last weekend (over Memorial Day) for SWTC's booth. It is in just Yang, so it's more glitsy.
The other thing (that I finished on the way to the show) I don't have a picture of! It's a little pull-through scarf in the new Vickie Howell Collection yarn Vegas, which is a thick and thin wool/Soysilk blend with a metallic thread. The scarf has a big knitted rose right in front of the neck when worn.
I have a new project in the works in Vegas, too-- plus a few other assignments that cropped up at the show.
Overall, I had a great time! I got to chat with lots of fabulous people, including Amy Singer, Lexie Barnes (who had some tasty cupcakes to share and teased me incessantly about being her walking advertisement), Cookie A, Annie Modesitt, Shannon Okey, Stefanie Japel, Pam Allen, editors of various fine knitting magazines and representatives of many fine yarn companies (that's the point, right?) and plenty of blog pals: Cathi, Chrissy, Ivete, and Amy. I finally met my favorite (wait, maybe my only!) blogstalkers Jane and Debby too. The highlight of the weekend, though was seeing my good friend Tracy who used to be a part of our SnB group but moved away to Ohio a few months back. We took in some dinner (along with her friend Lisa who I've met before and some ladies from Lorna's Laces) and then some nightlife before I collapsed in my hotel bed Saturday night. Of course, this meant I blew off the AKD meeting (sorry ladies!)

Live from TNNA
Well, after a drive this morning I'm here in Columbus. I spent pretty much the whole day on the show floor checking out all of the goodies. I delivered the super-last minute project in the new Vickie Howell yarn Vegas (love it!!) to SWTC, which I finished just in the nick of time. It's a thick and thin Soysilk and wool blend with a metallic thread. The pink is really cute!
I think I've slept all of 7 hours in the past 2 days so I'm looking a bit rough, but I think everyone will forgive me- I've finished multiple projects in the past week alone!!
Apparently the set I did in the new SWTC yarns Yin and Yang (they are a wool/bamboo/silk blend, and come in the same colors- only Yin is plain and Yang has sequins!) was well received in the fashion show last night. I wish I could have been here for that but I had to be at work (pout).
That's it for now, I have more to tell later!
